GRP Assignment 3: Formal Proposal
Your proposal must be between 1½ and 3 pages in length. It does not need to be your final plan. When you read the sample proposal below, you will see that the writer is still undecided on some points.
Your proposal must include:
Your topic
The importance of your topic: What motivated you to choose this topic?
Your research question or questions (as specific as possible)
Discussion and analysis of the sources you have found so far
Need for additional sources
Possible thesis statement
The logical organization of the body of your paper: (will the paper present a problem and solution? Causes and/or effects? Reasons for or against something? An analysis of different aspects of something? The historical development of something? A comparison and contrast?)
Any definitions and/or background information needed.
